I have a confession to make. Up until I turned 28, I didn’t wear make-up on a regular basis. Oh, of course I wore lipstick during my graduation ceremonies throughout the years and some school performances, but overall, I didn’t actually have a makeup collection before 2014.
I will be the first one to admit that I have never considered myself a lipstick fan. For the longest time and during my pre-makeup days, I have always relied on my Human Nature Peppermint Lipbalm for avoid chapped lips and that was it. Even when I started getting makeup, it literally took me months before I even bought my first lipstick – and even then it was because it was on sale and super cheap.
So perhaps no one was more surprised than I am when I made the effort to actually look for a seller of these Milani Color Statement lipsticks. I must say that what got me really curious was the fact that Milani has quite an excellent reputation when it comes to their blushers and lipsticks, so I was not about to pass on the opportunity to own at least one of these products. When I came across a review and swatch video of them on Youtube and saw the shades in which they come, I immediately set me heart to buying the ones that I like.
I first heard of Hard Candy from Emily Eddington of Youtube, who is perhaps one, if not my top makeup influences. I have been a subbie of hers for some time now and have learned a lot from her. In a number of her videos, she talked about loving these Hard Candy Kal-eye-descope Baked Eyeshadow Duos and I somehow made that mental note in my mind to be on the lookout for them when I do my online shopping.
If anything can be said about me when it comes to the eyeshadow shades I use, it’s that I love my neutrals. Why wouldn’t I? They’re easy to use and can match with almost any type of outfit with the added benefit of not having to think if one particular shade combination really goes well with the rest of your makeup. Having said that, it’s really no surprise why the Wet N Wild Comfort Zone palette was one of the first things I ordered off my local US drugstore makeup seller.
